A general election will be held on 19 November 2014. Be vigilant throughout polling day and during the period of selection of a new Prime Minister. Major political developments have previously been the catalyst for civil unrest, mainly but not restricted to Honiara. Avoid political demonstrations/gatherings if possible and monitor the local media.
